At the Council Meeting tonight 2/14 the council approved a pay cut for the council to $80 Mayor/$50 council per council meeting and $50 per special meeting ($100 if over 4 hours) with a Motion/Second from the 2 new council members Scott Czanstkowski and Roy Henry. In the past they were paid even if they missed the council meeting, now it will be No Show/No Pay. The prior pay was $150/110 for city council meetings and $70/140 for special meetings.
Fox 9 News was also present and reported on the Mayor Pay issue. The mayor made $1480 just for the Month of January. The Mayors of Buffalo and Edina make $4,600 and $10,000 a Year respectively. Buffalo's mayor is paid an additional $20.00 per meeting for non-council meetings, which would an extra $700 to $1,000 per year based on three to four per month.
